2019 Spring Commissioning

The goal this winter was to do minimal projects, though being a boat, there are always projects to do. We actually went through the end of last season without a working line cutter or a gear shift lever. Maybe you didn’t notice, but we secretly lifted up a towel where the compass usually is to pull the shift cable to make the boat go in forward / neutral / reverse while using the engine – now the secret is out! We did also manage to snag one lobster pot, which resulted in diving the bottom rather than having the line cutter swiftly remove it from our running gear.

That all said, we made the necessary repairs over the winter as well as bottom and shaft paint, 4 coats of varnish, sail and canvas repairs, some interior refinishing and so on!

We launched on May 15th and then left Virginia for Provincetown on May 21st!
