Provincetown Summer 2018

Provincetown 2018 summer was such a whirlwind this year with Captain Craig in charge of creating amazing sailing experiences and delectable food experiences, some special guests and our beloved theme weeks.

As a part of the annual Provincetown Portuguese festival, the grand finally is the Blessing of the Fleet. Moment was the last in the line and received a standing ovation from the crowd as she was being blessed by the Bishop.

Our July 4th week, as usual, was our busiest of the summer and thankfully we had almost perfect weather the entire week. We were able to take out lots of fun and interesting guests. On the night of July 4th we extend our hours to have a special sunset sail and then sit on Moment’s mooring to watch the Provincetown fireworks display. While the evening had light winds for sailing, the sunset and fireworks were quite a spectactular sight!

Provincetown Family week is always a fun time to create budding new sailors and give them an experience they will forever treasure. We thoroughly enjoy exposing sailing to “first timers” regardless of age!

The late summer big week of Provincetown is Carnival, where there is a themed parade (this year was Mardi Gras by the Sea). There is always a main performance act in the week and this year was Betty Who.

During Carnival week, Betty Who, her dancers, and crew joined us the morning before their big performance in town. We also welcomed back aboard Jonathan Bennett from Mean Girls and Cake Wars and Jaymes Vaughan of Celebrity Page the day before.

One of the most rewarding things about Moment is when we are able to be there for your special Moment. We had a few of those this summer in the way of marriage proposals – one of them being from our very own alternate captain, James! After he popped the question on Long Point, we picked up the engaged couple up from the beach and commenced with a celebration sail around the harbor!
