A Cape Cod Bay Wedding Proposal
One of our favorite types of sails is a wedding proposal. We are so honored that this is the platform that someone would choose to propose marriage to the love of their life. We like to make sure every detail is prepared and the wishes of the guests are met to the highest standard and secrecy to create an unforgettable memory and a definitive “YES!”
In mid August, we had Jeff and Jill aboard. Jeff had been working with us to coordinate the perfect story, timing and also chartered an additional fishing boat with a secret photographer, Gregg Peterson of StudioGregg Photography. We were coached to tell Jill that they happened to get the boat to themselves that night. Fortunately she did not know that we only offer private sailing charters! Normally when the couple had been sailing in the past, they rented small boats and were accustomed to dressing casually. To get Jill to be properly dressed for fabulous photos from all angles, he had scheduled a upscale dinner at the Chatham Bars Inn shortly after our sail.
While under full sail, we were in communication with the photo boat where to position themselves. As we rounded Long Point into Cape Cod Bay and the light was just right, the couple went onto the bow, the photo boat zoomed up and Jeff popped the question. With her full surprise, he received a resounding “yes!” We took several poses on board of the couple from the photo boat and also with an on-board camera. The newly engaged couple enjoyed the remainder of the sail and sunset before heading off to that upscale dinner and a life time together.
